  1. A food pantry in Northwest Queens is currently facing eviction. La Jornada, a food pantry that serves 10,000 Queens families, is being forced to leave its public housing headquarters by the end of the month. Public officials familiar with the issue say that the pantry has grown too large and is interfering with the lives of the families living at the Bland Houses. As of Tuesday evening, Mayor Adams's office has not responded to requests for comment. (Queens Daily Eagle)
  2. Left-leaning members of the Queens County Democratic Party are calling for a greater push to protect "reproductive rights and voting rights." The group, called The New Reformers, put forward a motion at the most recent Democratic Club meeting that would require candidates to pledge to protect those rights as a condition of endorsement. The motion was not brought up for a vote. (LIC Post)
  3. The Chief Judge of the New York Court of Appeals will be stepping down. Judge Janet DiFiore, who has served since her appointment in 2016, is leaving about three years prior to her mandatory retirement date. She gave no particular reason for her resignation, but said that the position was "a high honor and the greatest privilege of my professional life." A new chief judge is not expected to take office until the beginning of 2023. (Queens Daily Eagle)
