A 73-year-old woman was struck and killed minutes after dropping her granddaughters off at school Friday morning, according to a report.

QUEENS, NY — A grandmother was killed by a school bus filled with children in Queens, according to police and reports.

The woman, 73, had just dropped her three grandchildren off at school Friday and was walking home in Ozone Park when the bus plowed into her, the New York Daily News first reported.

The crash unfolded about 7:25 a.m. as the woman crossed 86th Street strolling east, NYPD officials told Patch.

That's when a school bus driver — a 47-year-old woman — made a left turn from 107th Avenue and struck the grandmother, police said.

Cops arrived to find the woman unconscious and unresponsive in the intersection, authorities said. Medics pronounced her dead at the scene, where the bus driver stayed, police said.

The crash was still under investigation as of Friday afternoon, officials said.
