- The Halal Guys will be opening a new location at the Queens Center Mall in Elmhurst. The new location will feature traditional menu items The Halal Guys is known for — its gyro sandwiches, falafels, and rice platters, which are served with meat and its signature white sauce. An official opening date has yet to be announced; however, according to Franchise owner Dr. Jack Yeung, a Connecticut-based pharmacist who owns and operates several Halal Guys restaurants, the eatery will open by the end of spring. - A serial robber stole $1,000 from a Northeast Queens Bank on Tuesday, marking his second heist in the past several days. According to the NYPD, the man walked into an Oakland Garden Chase Bank at around 3:15 p.m., located on 73rd Avenue near Bell Boulevard, and passed a teller a note demanding money. The suspect, who got away with the money, is described as a 30-something-year-old man who stands at 5-feet, 10-inches. (Patch)
- A city bus struck and critically injured a 15-year-old on an electric scooter in Queens. According to police, the teen was riding the scooter near the corner of Seneca and Gates Aves. on Tuesday afternoon in Ridgewood when a B13 bus heading west on Gates struck him. The victim was transported to Brookdale Hospital with severe body trauma. (Yahoo)
