- Through the end of the month, a giant heart paying tribute to healthcare workers will be on display in Queens. New Yorkers walking by the Long Island City waterfront promenade at Hunter's Point South Park will find the public art piece which was sculpted by Sergio Furnari. The giant stainless steel red heart is on a mini “love tour” of the city and was last seen in Oct. in Central Park. (Time Out New York)
- A woman was indicted for stabbing her female neighbor to death inside a Far Rockaway apartment last month. According to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz, 48-year-old Evelyn Cruz has been charged with one count of murder in the second degree and one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree for the death of 33-year-old Jessica Britt. Cruz is scheduled to return to court on Feb. 17 and could face 25 years to life in prison if convicted. (NBC New York)
- A fight inside a Queens sports bar led to a deadly shooting on Monday. At around 11:30 p.m. on Linden Boulevard near 194th Street in St. Albans, police were called to a reported shooting and found 33-year-old Diquan Orr was shot in the chest outside the bar. The victim was rushed to LIJ Valley Stream Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. (CBS)
