Heat Advisory Still In Effect Despite Port Chester Flash Floods At 2PM

Expect temperatures in the mid-90s to feel as high as 104-degrees because of humidity, according to the National Weather Service.

PORT CHESTER, NY — Despite a flash flooding warning, the heat advisory remains in effect through 8 p.m. Friday, according to officials from the Village of Port Chester.

Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-to-high 90s, but the combination of heat and humidity will make it feel like as high as 104-degrees, even with flash floods expected at varying intervals throughout the day after 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service Forecast Office of New York.

Some storms are likely to produce heavy rainfall after 5 p.m., said Port Chester officials via Facebook.

The village's Department of Public works will continue to monitor the storms and determine if streets located within the municipal flood plain, like Abendroth Avenue, will need to be closed, the officials added.

When updates are available village officials will post new information on the Village of Port Chester’s Facebook Page.
