  1. A newly released video shows the horrifying moment when a hit-and-run driver slams through a mother and child crossing the street. The SUV driver was stopped by police when they hit the gas in an attempt to escape. The SUV hit a mother and a child in a stroller and a man unloading a truck and sped off. Luckily, the victims struck by the vehicle were not severely injured. As of Friday evening, the driver has not been apprehended. (NBC New York)
  2. Police are on the hunt for a group of suspects in a string of car robberies across the Bronx and Queens. The suspects were involved in at least nine robberies from Aug. 1 to Aug. 9. To see footage of the suspects, you can click the link and watch a video. Police are asking anyone with information on the suspects' whereabouts to come forward. (CBS New York)
  3. New York's first queer food festival is hitting Queens this weekend. The event will feature dozens of LGBTQ+ chefs, artists, bakers, and more. It's all going down today from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Festival-goers are invited to start with brunch and feast 'til sunset. It all takes place at Socrates Sculpture Park. (Time Out)
