- A Friday morning house fire in Queens injured two people. At around 9:30 a.m., flames broke out on the second floor of a single-family home on 109th Street in Corona. At this time, it's unclear what caused the fire, although authorities say lithium batteries were found at the scene. (WABC-TV)
- At a May 5 conference, Mayor Eric Adams announced a plan to earmark $47.6 million in the upcoming city budget for shared bike and pedestrian paths, also known as greenways. In Queens, greenway gaps will be filled in from Flushing Meadows to Fort Totten Park in Bayside, Queens. (AMNY)
