- New public transit proposals have been released by The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to get travelers to and from LaGuardia Airport — including the largely unpopular AirTrain plan. 14 potential mass transit options have been released for the public to consider after the agency paused the LaGuardia AirTrain plan at the direction of Gov. Kathy Hochul in Oct. Two public workshops will be held later this month to collect further feedback on the options. (Queens Post)
- A man was arrested on Wednesday after he bit the ear of a fellow resident during a fight inside a veterans’ shelter in Long Island City. According to police, 62-year-old Donald Wright allegedly bit the left ear of a 65-year-old man inside Borden Avenue Veterans Residence at 21-10 Borden Ave. at around 7:35 a.m. The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition and Wright was arrested for attempted assault and harassment. - A parked car burst into flames in front of a house in Queens, injuring four people. At around 3:30 a.m., a car parked in a driveway on 68th Road near 147th St. in Kew Gardens caught fire and spread to the home, engulfing the garage and most of the home's first floor. Four residents in the home were hospitalized, including one person with serious injuries. (Yahoo News)
