Lawmakers Request More Police In Northeastern Queens Amid Crime Spike
Council Member Sandra Ung sent the letter to the mayor as rapes, robberies, and burglaries continue to climb in the 109th Precinct.

QUEENS — Lawmakers in Queens sent a letter to Mayor Eric Adams demanding his administration direct more police officers to the northeastern area of the borough amid the rise in crime in 2022.
Council Member Sandra Ung sent the letter to the mayor on Monday as rapes, robberies, and burglaries continue to climb in Queens neighborhoods, including Flushing, College Point, and Bay Terrace.
“Our community is still reeling from the surge in Anti-Asian hate crimes,” the letter reads. “In order to ensure our city remains on the path towards recovery, and especially with the holiday season around the corner, we must tackle this crime wave head on.”
