Man, 39, Beaten To Death With Chair In Queens: Police

On Saturday, Michael Tobon succumbed to his injuries and the incident is now deemed a homicide, police said.

QUEENS, NY — A 39-year-old man beat a man to death with a chair following an argument in Queens last week, police said.

Rahmel Tedder, 30, got into an argument with Michael Tobon, 39, and struck him with a chair at 90-25 175 Street in Jamaica at around 4:15 a.m., police said.

Officers found Tobon with a laceration to the head. The 39-year-old victim was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

On Saturday, Tobon succumbed to his injuries and the incident is now deemed a homicide, police said.

Tedder was arrested on Friday and was charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
