Man Busted In Anti-Sikh Hate Crime Aboard Queens Bus: NYPD

QUEENS, NY — A hateful assailant who tried totear the turban off a Sikh teen's head aboard a Queens bus has been arrested, police said.

Christopher Philippeaux, 26, faces a hate crime assault charge in the Sunday attack that left a 19-year-old man pummeled, authorities said.

Police said Phillippeaux is the attacker who spouted bile at a COVID mask-wearing Sikh man on an MTA bus in Little Guyana before punching the teen and trying to rip his turban off.

"We don't wear that in this country and take that mask off!" the attacker shouted, police said.

Cops arrested Philippeaux, who lives in East Harlem, Thursday after a days-long search for the bus attacker, NYPD officials said.
