Motorcyclist Crashes Bike, Struck By Queens Hit-And-Run Driver: NYPD

QUEENS, NY — A motorcyclist died after he crashed his bike on Queens' Belt Parkway and was then struck by a hit-and-run driver, police said.

Medics pronounced Mohammed Hoque, 23, of Brooklyn, dead on the parkway near Springfield Boulevard early Sunday, NYPD officials said.

Police believe Hoque rode his 2008 Yamaha motorcycle west on the Belt Parkway when he collided with the road's center divider, authorities said.

Hoque fell off his bike onto the road, where an as-yet-unidentified driver and vehicle struck him, police said. The driver sped off before cops arrived, authorities said.

The investigation remains ongoing, police said.
