  1. Governor Hochul and Mayor Adams broke ground on a construction site for affordable housing on Thursday. The $100 million development is in Far Rockaway and will hold 194 apartments. The community, known as Edgemere Commons, is part of an 11-phase redevelopment at the former site of the Peninsula Hospital Center. Read more about the plan at the link. (ny.gov)
  2. Four men have died after a deadly six hours on Wednesday. According to police, three men were gunned down in Brooklyn in the course of three hours on Wednesday, while a fourth was killed in Queens just hours later. The Queens man was shot at 221st Street and 94th Drive in Queens Village. According to police, the victim was dead when they arrived on the scene. As of Thursday evening, police are still investigating. (1010 WINS)
  3. Memorial Day is coming up, and several Queens neighborhoods will be celebrating with parades. Little Neck-Douglaston, College Point, Ridgewood-Glendale, and Forest Hills will all be holding parades on May 29 or 30 to celebrate the holiday. There will also be a concert performed by the Queens Symphony Orchestra in Forest Park on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. Admission is free, learn more about the events at the link. (QNS)
