New York Blood Center Hosts 9/11 Day Of Service Blood Drives

Two sites in Queens for blood drives on Sept. 11 include Little Neck and Holliswood, according to The New York Blood Center.

NEW YORK CITY — The New York Blood Center will honor New Yorkers lost in the 9/11 attacks with a day service on Sept. 11.

The center will host 12 blood drives, two of which will be in Queens, according to NYBC.

At the Sam Field Center in Little Neck, located at 58-20 Little Neck Parkway, there will be a blood donation drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will also be a drive in Holliswood at the Bait-Uz-Zafar Mosque at 188-15 McLaughlin Ave. from 12 to 6 p.m.

NYBC is taking extra precautions to help prevent the spread of Covid-19, so people who are experiencing a cold, sore throat, respiratory infection or flu-like symptoms are not eligible to donate at.

People who are not eligible or available to donate blood can donate funds by texting 20222 to support NYBC’s cause.

All people who wish to donate can make appointments at their nearest center at nybc.org.

  • Neve Shalom of Metuchen: 250 Grove Ave., Metuchen; 8:30 am - 1 p.m.
  • Holy Family Parish: Msgr. Glynn Community Center, Staten Island; 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • The Hebrew Institute: 3700 Henry Hudson Pkwy. East, Bronx; 9 am - 3:00 p.m.
  • Lakeview Fire Dept.: 891 Woodfield Rd., West Hempstead; 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • St. Raphael’s: 600 Newbridge Rd., East Meadow; 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
  • South Branch Emergency Services: Old Route 22, Clinton; 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Ethical Culture Society: 7 Saxon Woods Rd., White Plains; 2 p.m. -8 p.m.
