Here are the top three stories in Queens today:
- According to data released by the state of New York, the number of kids being homeschooled in NYC has more than doubled since the COVID-19 pandemic. The total today is about 12,900 kids. The trend is commensurate with one that's been seen since the beginning of the pandemic and has continued even through the return of in-person classes. (New York Post)

- Detectives are investigating an early morning shooting on Saturday that left one man in critical condition. According to police, the man was shot six times by masked gunmen in Astoria. The shooting took place at around 4:00 a.m. in front of 33-29 Astoria Boulevard North. (AMNY)
