NYC Bicyclist Killed After Being 'Doored' By Driver In Queens: Police

QUEENS, NY — A 26-year-old bicyclist was killed after he struck the open door of a parked car in Queens on Monday, police said.
The incident happened near 108 Street and 38 Avenue around 6:40 p.m.
According to police, 26-year-old Cristian Villafuerte Vazquez was traveling northbound on 108 Street when he struck the open door of a 2014 BMW 320I that was parked near the intersection.

The 26-year-old suffered severe head trauma following the crash.
He was taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the BMW remained at the scene.
