NYC Corrections Employee Arrested In Queens Robbery: NYPD

A Queens-based institutional aide for the city's Corrections department was charged with robbery Tuesday, police said.

QUEENS, NY — A city Corrections department employee was arrested Tuesday related to a Queens robbery, according to the NYPD.

Paul Coleman, 44, was arrested at about 12:00 p.m. in Queens' 114th Precinct, which covers Astoria, Long Island City, Woodside and Jackson Heights, according to the NYPD.

Coleman, who has worked as an institutional aide at the department for under a year, now faces robbery charges, according to the NYPD.

Little else was shared by police officials about the incident that landed Coleman in cuffs.

Coleman was not the only city employee arrested Tuesday. An FDNY EMT faced charges related to driving while intoxicated after he was arrested in Brooklyn Tuesday.
