Man Killed, Another Wounded In Queens Shooting: Police (patch.com) — A deadly shooting outside a Queens deli left a 27-year-old man fatally wounded and another man hospitalized with a leg injury, according to police. The victims were rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and NYC Health and Hospitals/Queens, where one later died. Investigators have not yet determined a motive, and no arrests or suspect descriptions have been released.
   

2. State comptroller's office presents new 311 complaint mapping tool at Queens Community Board 5 meeting (qns.com) — Queens residents can now explore neighborhood 311 complaint trends through a new NYC311 Monitoring Tool showcased at Community Board 5. The online map breaks down issues like illegal parking across District 30, including Ridgewood, Maspeth, Middle Village and Glendale, helping locals and agencies track quality-of-life concerns using up-to-date data back to 2019.
   

3. Metropolitan Park anti-casino movement grows as 30 faith leaders release statements in opposition (qns.com) — Faith leaders and community groups across Queens are intensifying opposition to the proposed Metropolitan Park casino next to Citi Field in Flushing, warning of addiction, debt, and threats to neighborhood character. Supporters counter with promises of thousands of jobs, a Queens-first hiring plan, and billions in projected tax revenue, leaving residents weighing economic gains against social and public health risks.
   

4. Whitestone Republican Club hosts high-energy holiday gala (qns.com) — Whitestone Republicans packed a high-energy holiday gala where Council Member Vickie Paladino and other GOP figures rallied supporters and promised tough fights ahead in New York City.
