Queens scooter rider, 24, dies 10 days after being ‘doored' into coma, family devastated (nydailynews.com) — A 24-year-old immigrant Arabic tutor died after being “doored” while riding his electric scooter on Liberty Ave. in Ozone Park, highlighting safety concerns on Queens streets like 103rd Ave. and 108th St. The crash, along with two similar recent “dooring” deaths nearby, has prompted the city’s Transportation Department to review these locations for potential safety improvements.
   

2. Massive Home Depot Theft Ring Busted in New York (wpdh.com) — A Queens-based crew is accused of running a massive Home Depot theft ring that allegedly stole over $2.2 million in tools and equipment from 128 stores nationwide. New York’s governor and Queens District Attorney say 13 people now face hundreds of charges tied to the operation, which prosecutors say was organized daily from Queens and resold goods online and in Brooklyn.
   

3. JPMorgan's New Skyscraper Is a NYC Eyesore (newser.com) — A Queens resident who can see JPMorgan’s massive new Park Avenue headquarters from his apartment says the towering addition makes the skyline look “totally out of place.” The critique echoes a scathing architectural review that slams the 60‑story skyscraper’s bulk, steel use, and overpowering presence over Midtown.

Kerri Aherne, accused of stabbing mom changing baby in NYC Macy's, cycled through psych hospitals (nydailynews.com) — A Queens councilman and a Queens shopper are reacting to a shocking stabbing of a California mother changing her baby in a Macy’s Herald Square bathroom, just hours after the suspect was discharged from a Manhattan psychiatric hospital. The case is raising fresh questions about mental health oversight, store security, and how safe New Yorkers and visiting families can feel in crowded Midtown shopping hubs.
