Police Impersonators In Queens Rob $20K In Crypto, Mercedes Benz: NYPD

Two men identified themselves as FBI agents to a couple returning home on Saturday, July 16, in Flushing.

QUEENS — Two men pretending to be FBI agents robbed a Mercedes Benz, about $40,000 in cash and cryptocurrency, and luxury bags from a couple in Flushing last week, police said.

Two men identified themselves as federal authorities to a couple returning home on Saturday, July 16, about 7:30 p.m., showed the couple their firearms, and then tased the 31-year-old man and 25-year-old woman, the NYPD said.

The men tied the couple up before taking their 2019 Mercedes-Benz GT50, a Hermes bag, a Chanel bag, a Rolex watch, a wallet, a cell phone, about $20,000 in cash, and $20,000 in cryptocurrency, authorities said.

The robbers fled in a vehicle, and no injuries were reported, cops said Thursday.
