Police Search For Man Who Threw Water On Queens Traffic Cops

News of the Queens incident comes after viral videos of people dumping water​ on cops in Harlem, Brownsville and The Bronx.

WOODHAVEN, QUEENS — Police are searching for a man who threw water on two traffic cops in Woodhaven last week.

The NYPD officers were standing by 86th Street and Jamaica Avenue the afternoon of July 24 when the man walked up to them, splashed water on them from a bottle and walked away, surveillance video shows.

The man held up a cell phone the whole time, as if he were filming.

Police say they want to question the man about "obstructing governmental administration."

Videos of people dumping buckets of water on cops in Harlem, Brownsville and The Bronx circulated on social media and have led to four arrests, according to the NYPD and news reports.

The men accused of the drenchings are facing charges including harassment, obstructing governmental administration and third-degree criminal mischief — the latter of which is a class E felony.
