Here are the top three stories today in Queens:

  1. Police are still searching for three teenage girls after the deadly beating of a cab driver on Saturday near Arverne Project and Beach 54 Street in the Rockaways. Officials shared video footage featuring the three suspects after two suspects were taken into custody. Cab driver Kutin Gyimah was killed on Saturday morning at 6:30 a.m. after chasing five passengers attempting to skip out on paying their fare. (NBC New York)
  2. Are you ready for a weekend in Queens? I know I am now that I've read this QNS.com article about upcoming activities around the borough. Today at Q.E.D., you can check out stand-up comedy starting at 9:30 p.m. Tomorrow, swing by the Vander-Ende-Onderdonk House to learn about the lives of the Dutch residents who lived there. If that's not enough, you can head to Flushing Town hall at 1:00 p.m. to learn about fantastic Asian omelets. (QNS.com)
  3. Residents rallied on Wednesday night for pedestrian safety after 75-year-old Be Tran was struck by a speeding vehicle. Tran was completing a food delivery when the car struck him and sped off. Community members at the rally said that changes to the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and Hancock Street would make the area safer and honor Tran's life. Three others were injured by another hit-and-run driver at Wykoff and George just five days before the incident that claimed Tran's life. (WABC-TV)
