BAYSIDE, QUEENS — A group of voters in Bayside and Long Island have over 10,000 postcards urging voters in the district to participate in efforts to expel Rep. George Santos from Congress as of Wednesday.

This is part of the series of actions the cohort of constituents is taking against the embattled Republican after he admitted he fabricated his resumé in the run-up to the 2022 midterm elections to represent New York's 3rd Congressional District.

Members of Concerned Citizens of NY-03 started the postcarding campaign with 40 volunteers in a hotel conference room in Great Neck, and then expanded to more than 150 members.

"Postcard-writing is uniquely effective because recipients are typically more responsive to the personal touch amid today's dispassionate digital communications," said a Concerned Citizens of NY-03 spokesperson.

The group is also urging GOP members of the New York congressional delegation to co-sponsor the resolution to expel Santos, who represents parts of Long Island and Bayside, from the House.

“Every day that George Santos sits in Congress erodes democracy, defrauds taxpayers, and deprives the people of NY-03 of the representation we need and deserve," said Kim Keiserma, a member of Concerned Citizens of NY-03.

A group of House Democrats filed a resolution in February seeking to expel the freshman lawmaker. Santos admitted he lied about his work and job history while campaigning for the 3rd District seat after The New York Times first revealed the fabrications on his resumé.

The group of constituents urged Republican lawmaker Nicholas J. LaLota, as well as Long Island lawmaker Anthony D’Esposito, to sign the resolution.
