Queens Artists Can Apply To Install Their Art In Flushing Park

The grants by the Alliance for Flushing Meadows Corona Park will award two artists to create two temporary art installations in the park.

QUEENS — Artists based in Queens can now apply to install their artwork in Flushing Meadows Corona Park by 2023.

The grants by the Alliance for Flushing Meadows Corona Park will award two artists to create two temporary art installations in the park.

The two winning grantees will receive $10,000 to create the artwork at designated park locations.

Possible locations include the west entrance to the park, the Roosevelt Avenue entrance to the park, the law areas near the Unisphere, and other locations.

“The locations we suggest include entrances, lake areas, historic sites, and we are open to the artist’s own ideas about ideal areas in the park that have meaning for them and their proposed work,” said the alliance’s executive director, Anthony Sama.

The installations will run from summer 2023 to summer 2024.
