Queens Bank Robbers Wanted After 3 Heists: NYPD

A crew of bank robbers made off with $6,300 in a spate of holdups in Queens as recently as this week, police said.

QUEENS, NY — A gang of bank robbers is wanted after they pulled three heists across Queens, police said.

The bandits scored at least $6,300 in loot from holdups that began after Christmas and continued into this week, authorities said.

The first bank job unfolded Dec. 26 about 11:45 a.m. when two men walked into a Chase bank along 101st Avenue in Ozone Park, NYPD officials said.

One of them passed a noted to a teller demanding cash, and received roughly $4,500 in return, officials said. The robbers then ran off to the north along 95th Street, police said.

The next robbery took place Tuesday and followed a similar pattern, according to an NYPD retelling.

Two men walked into a Citibank along 164th Street near Jamaica Avenue about 12:10 p.m., and one of them passed a note to a teller demanding cash, police said. The man also grabbed $1,800 from a customer depositing cash, officials said.

The men then ran off and were last seen hoofing it south on Guy R. Brewer Boulevard, authorities said.

The final robbery happened Wednesday at 11:25 a.m., when three men walked into a Chase bank along Metropolitan Avenue in Fresh Pond, police said.

Two men passed a note to a teller demanding cash, but apparently were unsuccessful, authorities said. The trio was last seen running to the west along Troutman street, police said.
