- New video footage shows a man using a stick to smash two windows of a Queens church earlier this week. According to police, the suspect vandalized the Community Church of Christ in Jamaica just before 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday. As of yesterday, they are still looking for him. The incident is also being investigated by the NYPD's Hate Crime Task Force. (New York Post)
- A Queens conservation group is hoping to turn trash they've removed from the East River, including 800 golf balls, into art. The Coastal Preservation Network launched its open call for a public outdoor sculpture, to be displayed in Hermon A. MacNeil Park. - Five sites across NYC, including Queens' Kent Manor, have been nominated to be added to the State and National Registers of Historic Places. Kent Manor, a garden apartment complex in Kew Gardens, was built in 1937; it housed a mix of native New Yorkers, Jewish refugees from Europe, and immigrants of different backgrounds and races. Now known as Hampton Court, the complex remains in use as a co-op. (Spectrum News NY1)
