Queens College Launches Coronavirus Emergency Fund For Students
Queens College launched an emergency relief fund Tuesday for students struggling to make ends meet amid the coronavirus pandemic.

QUEENS, NY — Queens College launched an emergency relief fund Tuesday to pay for technology supplies, shelter and food for students struggling to make ends meet amid the spread of the new coronavirus.
"This is a community that truly embodies the school’s motto, ‘We learn so that we may serve,'" Queens College Interim President William Tramontano said.
The college's 20,000-some students transitioned to remote learning in March due to the pandemic, a shift that "brought the economic disparities of Queens College students to the forefront," officials said in a news release Tuesday.
