ROCKAWAY BEACH, QUEENS — A cyclist died two weeks after a driver crashed into her in the Rockaways, making her the 26th cyclist killed on city streets so far this year.

Ada Martinez, 66, was riding in the bike lane along Rockaway Freeway about 7:45 on Sept. 27 when she turned left onto Beach 94th Street and collided with a van heading the other direction on the freeway, police said.

Martinez veered to the right to avoid hitting the van but instead fell off her bicycle right into the driver's path, according to police.
