  1. The Queens Night Market will return to Flushing Meadows-Corona Park next month.
Last year was the market's busiest year on record. This year, the beloved international food festival is starting small, with two "sneak preview" events on Apr. 16 and 23. The hope for these ticketed previews is to alleviate opening night traffic and capacity issues from previous years. The free event will be open to the public starting on May 7. (Patch)
  2. Grab your skates and head to JFK to roller skate on the airport tarmac in April! With roller skating surging back in popularity in New York City, it was announced that a roller skating rink would open at Rockefeller Center for the first time since 1940. The Roll-A-Rama at the Runway Rink is returning to JFK Airport’s retro TWA hotel starting Apr. 15. It will be open on the JFK tarmac where you can skate to retro tunes as planes take off nearby Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. (WPIX 11 New York)
  3. The Queens Centers for Progress' 26th Annual Evening of Fine Food raised over $120K for individuals with developmental disabilities. On Mar. 14, more than 500 people attended the event dedicated to celebrating community, resilience, and the value of giving. The funds raised from the event will go to the many organizations that assist over 1,200 individuals with developmental disabilities to lead more independent lives. (QNS.com)
