QUEENS, NY — A "beloved" Queens school crossing guard was fatally struck by a dump truck Friday morning, said a local lawmaker.

Krystyna Naprawa, 63, died in a crash at Woodhaven Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue, confirmed state Assembly Member Jenifer Rajkumar.

"Ms. Naprawa was a beloved member of the community who devoted her life to the safety and education of our children," Rajkumar said in a statement.

The crash, which is still under investigation, unfolded about 8 a.m. when a 39-year-old man tried to make a right turn with a dump truck onto Atlantic Avenue, NYPD officials said.

The man struck Naprawa, who was found unconscious and unresponsive in the crosswalk when police arrived, authorities said.

Medics pronounced her dead at the scene, police said. The driver remained at the crash, officials said.
