Queens School Safety Agent Arrested For Hitting Daughter: Reports

An NYPD school safety agent was arrested Tuesday for assaulting his own daughter, according to police and news reports.

QUEENS VILLAGE, QUEENS — An NYPD school safety agent was arrested Tuesday for assaulting his own daughter, according to police and news reports.

Police arrested off-duty school safety agent Dewithe Ashley, 46, about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in the safety officer's home on 148th Avenue in Queens Village, the New York Post reported.

Ashley was charged with slapping his 17-year-old daughter during in argument about her grades, police sources told QNS.com.

The NYPD suspended Ashley without pay, the Post reported. He has worked as a school safety agent since 2006, city payroll records show.
