Robber Steals $1,000 From Queens Bank: NYPD

The man slid a note demanding money to a teller at a Chase Bank in Ridgewood, police say.

RIDGEWOOD, QUEENS -- Police are searching for a man who made off with a significant chunk of cash after robbing a bank in Ridgewood on Friday afternoon.

The man walked into a Chase Bank on Myrtle Avenue at around 12:30 p.m. and slid a note to a 20-year-old teller demanding cash, the NYPD said. The teller handed over roughly $1,000 to the man, who took off from the bank in an unknown direction.

Police described the thief as a light-complexioned man with a beard who looked to be in his late 20s.He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie and a black coat.
