Second Child Struck by Car This Week in Queens
A child was struck by a car in Middle Village on Tuesday, four days after an infant was killed in Jackson Heights.
MIDDLE VILLAGE, QUEENS — For the second time in four days a child has been struck on the side of the road by a car in Queens. The most recent accident took place on Tuesday afternoon when a young girl was struck near 74th Avenue and Metropolitan Avenue in Middle Village, according to reports.
The incident happened at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, the FDNY said. A fire department spokesman could not confirm the age of the child, but the Daily News reported the girl was 13 years old. The girl was unconscious when paramedics arrived, a fire official said, but she regained consciousness and was transported to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.

It was on Oct. 28 when a baby being pushed in a stroller was struck by a van backing out of a driveway in Jackson Heights. The 8-month-old child was killed in the accident and 44-year-old Armando Morales-Rodriguez was arrested for operating the van without a license.
