Sneaky Thief Lifts $25K From Unsuspecting Queens Motorist's Car: NYPD

A crook snuck into a 43-year-old man's car under the motorist's nose along a Bayside street, police said.

QUEENS, NY — A sneaky thief lifted $25,000 from an unsuspecting Queens motorist's car, police said.

The crook behind the under-the-nose Oct. 11 theft in Bayside remains on the loose, NYPD officials said.

The theft unfolded as a 43-year-old man was approached by an as-yet-unidentified motorist in a black Mazda sedan near 43rd Avenue and 214th Place, authorities said.

While the two chatted, the thief — a man described as between 20 and 30 years old — crept into the victim's car, stole $25,000 and ran off, police said.
