- The district attorney announced a former captain of the St. John's University Lacrosse team has been sentenced to six years in prison for the assault of his roommate. Matthew Stockfeder was found guilty in March of first-degree assault and fourth-degree weapons charges for a 2019 stabbing and near-disembowelment of his roommate during a dispute over a loud party at their apartment. Stockfeder, 24, faced up to 25 years in prison, however, the judge issued a six-year sentence plus five years of supervised release. (NBC New York)
- An event hosted by officers of Patrol Borough Queens South Community Affairs over the weekend provided NYC students with free prom dresses, shoes, bags, and makeup in Queens. The initiative, known as Prom Impact, began in 2015 with the New York City Police Foundation sponsoring the event. The clothing and other pieces were donated by officers, private businesses, and local community members with the goal to serve 800 students. (PIX11 New York News)
- A woman has been hospitalized with severe wounds after a car pinned her up against another car in a Queens crash Sunday morning. According to the police, the hit-and-run motorist rammed their white pickup truck into the 49-year-old victim and against another car at 120th Avenue and 167th Street in South Jamaica around 8:30 a.m., before fleeing the scene. The victim is currently at Jamaica Hospital in critical condition. Police are currently searching for the driver. (AMNY)

- Elementary students in Jamaica, Queens stocked up on some good titles for their summer reading thanks to Disney's 'Magic of Storytelling' campaign. The ongoing book giveaway visited PS160 and PS223 to distribute free books. (WABC-TV)
