- On Sunday, Mar. 6, the luck of the Irish came to Sunnyside during the St. Pat's for All Parade. The second-largest St. Patrick's Day Parade in the city returned to its usual in-person format, after going virtual last year amid the pandemic. According to Queens native and City Councilmember Tiffany Cabán, the event was a "beautiful celebration of the intersection of so many different identities" that stood in contrast to other parades that excluded LGBTQ+ organizations from participating. (AMNY)
- If you've ever wanted a taste of the farmer's life, the Queens County Farm Museum is offering interactive, adult-education programs. Featured classes include hands-on chicken rearing and cheesemaking classes. In celebration of the museum's 325th anniversary, the programs will focus on NYC's agricultural history, as well as connecting locals with the farm's historic grounds. (Patch)
- A new Long Island City skyscraper will soon gain the status of Queens' tallest building. It will be built at 42-02 Orchard Street, on a lot facing Jackson Avenue. The 69-story, 794-foot-tall tower will be mostly residential; a portion will be set aside for affordable housing. (Queens Patch)
