Tattooed Suspect Arrested In Brutal Queens Rape, Authorities Say
George Persaud faces rape and kidnapping charges stemming from the Dec. 30 attack, police said.

QUEENS, NY — An Ozone Park man has been charged for brutally raping and sexually abusing a woman for hours in southeast Queens last month, authorities say.
George Persaud, 24, was arraigned Thursday on charges of rape, kidnapping, sex abuse and criminal sexual act in connection with the attack that started late on Dec. 29, the Queens District Attorney's Office said.
According to prosecutors, Persaud approached the 40-year-old woman in Jamaica around 11:45 p.m. that night and pulled out what appeared to be a gun, saying, "Don’t do anything stupid or I’ll kill you."

Persaud took the woman to a nearby gas station, where he raped and abused her over the course of several hours, prosecutors say. At one point he appeared to let her go but actually followed her to her car, where he continued the attack in the back seat, the DA's office said.
Eventually Persaud took the woman's keys and drove into an alleyway on 100th Street, prosecutors say. The woman remembered she had a spare key when he got out to relieve himself and was able to flee, the DA's office said.

The NYPD released photos of Persaud last week as police searched for him, including one showing a tattoo of the words "Only The Strong Survive" across his chest. Fingerprints found on the car's back windows matched Persaud's, the DA's office said.
