  1. Current and former Chipotle workers in New York City will receive $20 million after the company violated city labor laws. Mayor Eric Adams announced on Tuesday that the Fair Workweek law violations included failing to post schedules 14 days in advance, failure to pay a premium for schedule changes, and offering available shifts to current employees before hiring new employees. Approximately 13,000 workers will receive the funds. (Spectrum News NY1)
  2. A 17-year-old boy was shot in broad daylight on Monday. The 17-year-old was on 118th Avenue near 152nd Street in South Jamaica when four others walked up to him on the sidewalk. One of the suspects appeared to say something while two others began shooting. Police are still tracking down the suspects.   3. The Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz is joining other authorities in cracking down on illegal waste dumping at JFK Airport. Katz and Mayor Eric Adams announced late last month that three companies have been charged with waste hauling in connection with construction work at the airport.
