Teen Shot To Death In Queens Apartment Building: NYPD

A 15-year-old boy was found dead, with gunshot wounds to his torso, in the stairwell of a Far Rockaway apartment building, police say.

FAR ROCKAWAY, QUEENS -- Police are still trying to piece together what led to a 15-year-old boy being shot to death in broad daylight inside a Far Rockaway apartment complex.

Trevor Rudd was lying unconscious when cops found him at around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday inside the second-floor stairwell of the apartment building he lived in on Beach Channel Drive, police said.

Rudd had been shot repeatedly in the torso and was pronounced dead on the scene, cops said.

A gun was recovered from the scene and a 31-year-old man was taken into custody as a person of interest, but no arrests have been made in the slaying, an NYPD spokesman said. The investigation is ongoing.
