QUEENS, NY -- There's no excuse to stay home this weekend with all the holiday-themed festivities happening in Queens.

Whether you prefer drinking in a Santa suit or crafting up some framed jewelry art as a last-minute gift, there's something for everyone - even the grinches and scrooges - to enjoy.


Sunnyside Santathon 2017

What: SantaCon lovers, dust off your Santa suits, because Sunnyside's sixth annual Santathon bar crawl is coming up this weekend. Bars participating in the festive pub crawl will be doing drink specials all night with $10 wrist bands available for purchase at the bars. Pick up a raffle card and get all nine bars stamped throughout the night for your chance to win a $500 bar tab. The weekend-long holiday drinking spree also helps give back to those in need, having raised $3,000 last year to buy Christmas toys and warm clothes for children in hospitals citywide.

Queens Pride Holiday Party

Neighborhood: Jackson Heights

What: Queens Pride wants to kick off the holidays by sharing food and drinks with supporters. The celebration will also include awards for the group's Pride Parade winners.

Where: Club Evolution, 76-19 Roosevelt Ave.

When: Saturday, Dec. 16, from 6 to 9 p.m.


Queens Holiday Lights Social Ride

Neighborhoods: Jackson Heights, College Point, Flushing and Bayside

What: Enjoy a tour of Queens' most festive light displays on this holiday light social ride that visits houses through College Point, Whitestone and Bayside. The night will start off at La Nueva Bakery in Jackson Heights, where riders can grab a cup of coffee and a pastry to keep warm before heading to the Latimer House Museum in Flushing for the tour. The evening will finish with a Korean BBQ dinner in Flushing.

Where: Meet at La Nueva Bakery, 86-10 37th Ave.

When: Sunday, Dec. 17. Meet at La Nueva Bakery at 4:45 p.m. Tour leaves from Latimer House Museum at 5:30 p.m.


Tinker Fest & Holiday Tree Lighting

Neighborhood: Flushing

What: Celebrate the holiday with tinkering, tree lighting, hot chocolate and music at this free American Institute of Architects event funded by the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs. Make a holiday LED card or E-Lantern, or build legos and sketch with AIA Queens before lighting the tree at the end of the day.

Where: Lewis H. Latimer House Museum, 34-41 137th St.

When: Saturday, Dec. 16, from 1 to 5:30 p.m.


Framed Jewelry Art Workshop

Neighborhood: Kew Gardens

What: Create a framed jewelry art masterpiece for the holidays at this workshop presented by Friends of Maple Groves. The $25 fee - $20 for members - includes light lunch and a velvet-lined frame, glue and jewelry pieces to decorate it with. Feel free to personalize your work of art with old or broken pieces of family jewelry. Call 347-878-6614 to reserve your spot.

Christmas Cantana

What: Join the First United Methodist Church of Jamaica for a musical service to celebrate the holiday season with musical director Carlos Alberto Perez Tabares.

When: Sunday, Dec. 17, at 4 p.m.
