QUEENS, NY -- The celebration of the year is coming up this weekend as New Yorkers plan to say goodbye to 2017 and hello to a New Year.
With a plethora of options to choose from in Queens, the question isn't whether to celebrate on New Year's Eve, but how? Whether you're planning to welcome 2018 in your fanciest ballgown or your comfiest onesie, there's something going on for everyone this weekend.
And for those who'd rather not party into the early morning hours, there are some great options for you, too. Try out some hot yoga with singing bowls or hunt down virtual zombies in a simulated apocalypse. This weekend's options really are endless.

How Many Zombies Are Too Many Zombies?
Neighborhood: Corona
What: Play the part of a scientist in this museum exhibit by helping the "Center for Calamity Control" simulate a zombie outbreak, where you'll learn to simulate, analyze and make predictions on this phenomenon using mathematical modeling. Players can modify the zombie simulation but coming up with their own circumstances for the apocalypse, which they will then play out through the 30- minute simulation.

Where: New York Hall of Science, inside the Flushing Meadows Corona Park, at 47-01 111th St.
When: Friday, Dec. 29, and Saturday, Dec. 30, at noon.
What: End the year right with one of Queens' hottest hip-hop concerts, featuring live performances from PNB Rock, 24Hrs and Jay Critch. Instagram star "Fatboy_SSE" will host the evening alongside NYC host Young Prince. The event is open to everyone ages 18 and up - or 17 for those who have a valid college ID or come with a parent/legal guardian who has a valid ID.

Mochitsuki-Rice Cake Pounding
Neighborhood: Flushing
What: As the year comes to an end, it's tradition for the Japanese to make rice cakes, or mochi, as a delicacy for Japanese New Year. The Tenrikyo Mission New York Center will host its annual rice cake making in preparation for the New Year's celebration. Come see the traditional ritual of winter and take part in the making and pounding of rice cakes, using an old-fashioned mortar and pestle.

When: Saturday, Dec. 30, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Anonymous For The Voiceless "Cube Of Truth" Subway Ride
Neighborhoods: Jackson Heights/Flushing
What: The mysterious online group "Anonymous" is planning to take its "Cube of Truth" for a subway ride on the "7" line through Queens. Donning variations of the signature "Anonymous" mask, group members plan to show riders footage documenting "the cruelty inherent in meat, dairy and egg production." The traveling show will include virtual reality technology for the public to experience life from a livestock animal's point of view.
Where: MTA Subway Line 7, with possible stops at densely populated transfer points along Roosevelt Avenue, the Queensborough Plaza and Main Street.
When: Saturday, Dec. 30, 2-5 p.m.

New Year's Onesie Party
Neighborhood: Ridgewood
What: Whether you feel the urge to celebrate the year's end dressed as your favorite animal or simply want to keep comfy, Kamehameha New Year's Party is the spot for you. You bring the drinks, and Superchief Gallery will provide the dance floors, two live DJs and roughly 100 video games for you to play. Dress in your favorite onesie, costume or cosplay outfit.
Where: Superchief Gallery NY, 1628 Jefferson Ave.
When: Saturday, Dec. 30, at 8 p.m.
Cost: Tickets are $10 online or $15 at the door.
Yin Yoga With Singing Bowls
Neighborhood: Rego Park
What: Combine hot yoga with Tibetan sound bowls and you have the new yoga phenomenon featured in this "Breathe-Yin-g" class at the HotYoga4U studio. Bid farewell to 2017 in a meaningful way with this relaxing yoga class, available to studio members.
Where: HotYoga4U, 6507 Woodhaven Blvd.
When: Saturday, Dec. 30, or Sunday, Dec. 31, at 6:30 p.m.
Cost: Free for members or class card holders (2 yoga blacks are required and are complimentary for students with auto-debit or unlimited membership.
New Year's Eve With Cardi B
Neighborhood: Maspeth
What: Ring in the New Year with a champagne celebration hosted by Bronx-bred rapper Cardi B, with music by DJ Venus, DJ Bebe, Shelby Sells and DJ Prostyle. The New Year's party will feature complimentary hors' d'oeuvres and a champagne toast at midnight.

NYE 2018 Grand Ballroom Celebration
Neighborhood: Flushing
What: Welcome 2018 with a breathtaking view of the city skyline from the newly renovated Terrace on the Park's Grand Ballroom Celebration. The all-inclusive event ticket grants you unlimited drinks - including frozen martinis and daiquiris - and a surf-and-turf dinner of shrimp scampi. You must be 21 and older to attend this soiree.

New Year's 80s Extravaganza
Neighborhood: Astoria
What: Salt & Bones Smokehouse will be burning what's left of 2017 in the fires of its pig roast and rewinding to a simpler, better time - the 80s. Enjoy a pig roast, open bar, live music and a champagne toast in a night honoring the decade while celebrating the New Year.
