Here are the top three stories in and around Queens today:

  1. This would just be too good to be true, right? Pete Alonso, at the site of the MLB All-Star Game, says he would love to see Shohei Ohtani in Queens. The Los Angeles Angels' star pitcher is up for a contract extension at the end of this season, and would go to free agency if the Angels organization can't make a deal. The MLB trade deadline is Aug. 2. (Sportsnaut)
  2. Two men were stabbed at a Bayside bar early Saturday morning. Reportedly, the two men had started a conversation with a woman at Hatfields when a third man became enraged and stabbed the two other men. According to police, one man was stabbed in the stomach and another was stabbed in the shoulder. The two men were taken to the hospital in stable condition. As of Monday evening, the perpetrator has not been arrested. (Patch)
  3. Gunshots early Monday in Chelsea grazed a man's chin and struck an unmarked police vehicle. According to police, the shooting happened around 12:17 a.m. at the corner of West 22nd Street and 6th Avenue. The victim and an unknown individual were in a dispute when the shooter drew a firearm and shot. The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. As of Monday evening, no arrests have been made in relation to this incident. (AMNY)
