- Two Queens students were stabbed multiple times in a fight that broke out across the street from their high school on Tuesday, according to police. At around 10:30 a.m., police responded to a call about the stabbing on Rockaway Boulevard in Ozone Park, not far from John Adams High School. They arrived to find a 17-year-old boy stabbed multiple times in the abdomen and arm and a 16-year-old boy stabbed in the leg and back. Both students were transported to the hospital — the older student is in critical condition. (NBC New York)
- A beloved Thai restaurant in Queens has been reborn as a rare Thai skewer shop. Lamoon in Elmhurst previously closed its doors in August 2021 due to declining sales throughout the pandemic, however, co-owners Jugkrwut Borin and Arada Moonroj are back breathing life into the same corner spot at 81-40 Broadway, at 82nd Street. This time, they've brought an entirely new concept: a charcoal-grilled Thai skewer shop called Jai Sang Ma. (Eater NY)
- Astoria is among five locations across New York City that will be the first to pilot a new bike parking concept. Running from March to July, the Brooklyn-based company Oonee will be placing a curbside pod, called a "Mini," for secure bike parking in five high-profile bicycling spots around the city. Though parking with Oonee is free for the duration of the demonstration, but will require cyclists to access Oonee through its website. (Queens Post)
