  1. The Forest Hills Jewish Center, a fixture in Queens, is relocating. The 400-family unit Conservative congregation’s synagogue at 106-06 Queens Boulevard has been on the market for about a year. Rabbi Gerald Skolnik, the congregation’s spiritual leader since 1982, explained that the current 70-year-old building “doesn’t serve the needs of our congregation." (The Jerusalem Post)
  2. A 29-year-old woman was found dead in a residential building's vestibule on Main Street near 56th Avenue in Flushing. Police said while the victim had no apparent signs of trauma, she did have bleeding around the vaginal area. A 52-year-old man who lives in the apartment building was taken to the local precinct for questioning. (WPIX 11 New York)
  3. Excavation work is underway for a three-story Target store at 22-11 31st Street in Astoria, which is slated for completion in Jan. 2023. Sitting in the former site of a two-story Key Food supermarket until its demolition in 2020, the building will yield 97,314 square feet with 175 feet of frontage along 31st Street. Up to 100 employees will be hired for the store. (New York YIMBY)
  4. The Gotham Organization and RiseBoro Community Partnership have revealed amenity spaces at Gotham Point, a dual-tower residential development in Hunters Point South, Queens. Gotham Point will comprise 1,132 rental apartments, which includes 847 rent-stabilized units. The South Tower is expected to debut later this year and the North Tower in 2022. (New York YIMBY)
  5. Queens kid LL Cool J had his name cemented in music history over the weekend after being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Dr. Dre presented him with the Musical Excellence Award for more than thirty years of making music that shaped a generation. The rapper took the opportunity to thank his family, support system, and his borough. (Queens Daily Eagle)
