Woman Found In Water Near Queens Park Died By Suicide

QUEENS, NY — A woman found dead in the water near Fort Totten in Queens over the weekend died by suicide, the city's medical examiner said.

The medical examiner determined that Sharon Shao, 51, drowned and ruled her death a suicide.

ABC7 New York and FOX5 NY first reported the new findings.

The victim was found unresponsive in the water around 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, Patch previously reported.

The 51-year-old's body was found near an abandoned white Mercedes sedan, police said.
