Woman Killed, Teen Injured In Double Stabbing Inside NYC Home
The incident happened at a home on Smart Street in Flushing, police said.

QUEENS, NY — A man fatally stabbed a woman and injured a teen inside a Queens home Thursday afternoon, police said.
The incident happened at 45-18 Smart St. in Flushing around 4 p.m., police said.
Officers found a 50-year-old woman who was stabbed multiple times and a 17-year-old boy who suffered stab wounds as well.

The 50-year-old was taken to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The teen is expected to survive.
The suspect, a 27-year-old man, then allegedly set a fire in the house and was found by police with self-inflicted injuries. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Five NYPD officers who responded to the house suffered minor injuries due to smoke inhalation.
The fire was put under control around 4:40 p.m.
Charges against the suspect are pending as of Thursday evening.
The relationship between the suspect and the two victims is unclear at this time, but according to ABC7 New York, the woman may have been the man's mother-in-law and the teen was his younger brother-in-law.
A motive into the stabbing has not been determined. An investigation remains ongoing.
