- A woman was robbed at knifepoint on Sunday in a Long Island City subway station. According to police, the 31-year-old victim was on a staircase leading to the E line at the Queens Plaza station around 5:45 a.m. when a man pulled a knife on her and demanded cash. The victim was not injured and police are searching for the suspect. (WCBS 880)
- An early morning crash involving an MTA bus and an FDNY fire truck injured three people. At around 12:30 a.m. on Monday near 21st Street and 37th Avenue, an MTA bus collided with an FDNY fire truck. Two passengers aboard the Q69 bus and the driver were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. (WPIX 11 New York)
- A new park will be coming to the Queens Plaza section of Long Island City early next year. The half-acre park will open next to luxury building Sven, the second tallest building in Queens standing at 71-stories. The new green space, called Sven Park, will feature a playground, dog runs, workout facilities as well as swinging benches. (Queens Post)
