Man Punched In Face, Knocked Unconscious In Riverhead Robbery: Police
The thief stole his backpack and fled, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — A man was punched in the face and knocked unconscious during a Riverhead robbery Sunday night, police said.
According to Riverhead Town police, the incident took place at about 6:57 p.m. at the intersection of Cedar Avenue and Railroad Avenue. While the man was unconscious, the robber removed his backpack and fled the area, police said.
After a search by Riverhead K9-2, the robber was located in the area of Court Street and Griffing Avenue and was taken into custody, police said.

Juan Francisco Urizar Zamora, 19, of Mastic Beach, was transported to the Riverhead Police Department, where he was charged with one count of second-degree robbery, a felony, and held for arraignment, police said.
