AMC Fantasy 5 To Repair Exterior Damage
The theater raised scaffolding outside the front doors last week after winds from a recent storm put a hole in the building's facade.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY – Is AMC Fantasy 5 theater looking to stage a reenactment of the scaffolding scene from Jackie Chan’s 2001 movie Rush Hour 2? Or is facelift to the facade in the works?
Actually, the scaffolding was raised last week outside the front of the theater, at 18 N. Park Ave., as part of an effort to repair a gaping hole on the facade left by a recent storm.
“If you’ll recall that a couple of weeks ago, there was kind of a big storm that came through the area, and when that happened, part of the exterior base of our building was damaged,” Sam Rappold, a manager at the theater, told Patch. “A panel got torn off by the wind. So, all that we’re doing is repairing that damage.”

Rappold added that because the repairs will involve considerable work to the facade above street level, the theater raised the scaffolding to protect pedestrians from potentially falling debris.
“Pedestrians can go about their business without worrying about any debris falling on them,” he said.
