ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY – The Breakfast Club in the heart of the village will turn off its grill for good come Sunday.

The breakfast-speciality establishment, at 21 S. Park Ave., announced on its website and social media platforms that it will close after more than two years in business.

“Over the past few years, we have enjoyed getting to know our guests and we like to think that we helped start many of their days on a bright note. Sadly, we announce that on Sunday, January 30th, we will be hosting our final service,” reads the post.

The Breakfast Club debuted in mid-September 2019, serving breakfast, brunch and lunch and closed by 4 p.m. each weekday and Saturdays. Owner Joey Lionetti said the breakfast-centric concept was born out of his need to be at home when his son returned from school each day, he told Newsday.

In explaining the reasons for shutting down, General manager Jade Lorenalti told Newsday: "We had lines out the door during the day, but we needed to generate more business during more hours. Under the ‘Breakfast Club’ name, there was only so much we could do."
